One of our favorite places. Great food and friendly staff. If you like liver and onions theirs is best.

Had to try this place again after ordering takeout a few weeks back. The diner on weekends is packed but the wait was only ten minutes for two. Immediately we were served and greeted by a waitress, who was super nice. I chose the salted caramel latte, which was perfectly sweet. The veggie omelette was gigantic and huge portion size. My partner and I shared the chocolate chip pancakes, so decadent and filling. Overall, everything was delectable and one of the best brunch options in Fort Lauderdale. I'm glad they added more breakfast options.

Stepped into this place from California to bring sandwiches to my clients here in Florida. My clients were very impressed with their Classic sandwich and their cookies. In fact, I was impressed myself. Cookies were fresh. Soft. Not overly sweet. I ordered the next day again for my next customers to visit. When it's good, it's good! Don't look elsewhere.

Went back for the Challah French toast who's served with oats, berries, light simple syrup and powdered sugar. YUM!!! The thick slices of French toast were toasted, yet still melted in my mouth. The oats gave the toast a bit of crunch, the berries added freshness and the simple syrup was the perfect amount of sweetness. Two pieces of toast doesn't seem like a lot but I could easily share this plate. Our server was friendly and we also had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, Julio, who brought our food to our table himself. He was also friendly and professional - he took a few minutes from all he was doing to talk with us about the restaurant. Thank you, Julio, for making us feel even more welcome! I also appreciate how well kept the restaurant is. It's clean, the booths are new and comfortable and both dining areas offer excellent accommodations. I found my favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Fort Lauderdale!

Awesome food, amazing vibe. A true NY style deli, vs just using that as a catchphrase. The food quality is as good as it gets. Breakfast is delicious dine food with a deli twist (eg, Eggs with latkes), and lunch has all the classics. Most recently I had the brisket sandwich on challah roll, with house-made gravy. Uh, yes. Get it. Desserts are on fire, the cookies are as good as cookies can be, and recently i had the chance to try the blueberry pie. Phenomenal. Everything is just excellent. Best part? The service. With age, I've come to appreciate great service. I sat at the bar (love sitting at a good deli counter) and was completely floored by the service I received from Billy, who has been there almost a decade. Super personable, knows the menu inside and out, and actually makes recommendations tailored to your level of hunger, what you're in the mood for etc, vs. giving a class "Everything is good" answer that we all love to hear - not. He even got down to specifying which desserts are better heated up vs cold - Billy if you're reading this, you made my day with an amazing experience. I live half hour away, and have zero hesitation about going here for breakfast or lunch - what a vibe, what a meal, what a service experience.

Here's my take on Top Hat Deli, a go-to spot in the Be Nice family. It's just a block away from me, so I've popped in a few times, and each visit has hit the mark. The place is always busy, even at off hours, which says a lot. On my most recent visit, I stopped in for a to-go order. While waiting, I found myself right by their sweets counter with its tempting display of pies and cookies, and, well, I couldn't pass it up. Ended up grabbing a giant sugar cookie decked out in colorful sprinkles, which did not disappoint. For lunch, I went with "The Classic" - smoked pastrami with caramelized onions, melted Swiss, and deli mustard on rye. It was amazing! It's a beast of a sandwich, served with a side (I went with fries, because why not?). Portion-wise, this thing could easily cover two meals and then some. Overall, Top Hat is a solid neighborhood gem with that familiar Be Nice quality, and it's become a reliable option when I want a good, hearty meal nearby. Can't go wrong here!

The mimosas are yummy, the food is great, but my favorite part is how they were able to create a modern deli. The built-in counter adds an old school diner feel, but the decor gives it an elevated touch. I walked over here after church on a Sunday & we were sat immediately. Their staff had on the dopest Halloween costumes, it was cool to see them invest so much time into the makeup/outfits. The kids dining in especially loved it. Our waitress was friendly, well informed & attentive. She quickly answered questions about the menu & provided great suggestions. For my drink, I had a passion fruit mimosa, a Halloween special I believe. I tried their popular deviled eggs & they didn't disappoint! It's an incredible union of flavors & the serving of 3 was perfect for 1 person. The relish they use is great quality & the everything bagel seasoning is a nice touch. For my entree, I ordered the Grand Schlam with scrambled eggs, bacon which is a generous portion, a latke & sourdough bread. Next time I'll add cheese to my eggs but they were perfectly fluffy & I'm picky with my eggs. The latke is flavorful but not overpowering & pairs really well with ketchup. The butter & jam served with toast are also fantastic. I appreciate them using good quality ingredients, you can taste it right away. My boyfriend was able to order a custom breakfast sandwich since he doesn't eat meat which was nice. The front has various deli items for sale which makes for a convenient pickup.

The entry way is a little chaotic with people waiting to be seated, ordering takeout, looking at the baked goods, etc. We put in a large group order-- we did not know where to stand and wait for our order. Most of us ordered sandwiches, which are a little overpriced for something so basic. I got the turkey club, but they did put a lot of turkey in there. They also don't package cups of soups to go, so I will likely dine in next time. Our favorites were the huge cookies-- like literally a few pounds heavy each. You can definitely split one cooking with a group of 4-5 people and still have more!

What to say besides delicious. This spot has been around for quite some time, and they are just so good. The quality of food, the service is fantastic and it's a welcoming environment. While I do feel some of the items are overpriced, I do enjoy going. I've always had lunch because I'm a sucker for matzo ball soup, but I went for breakfast this time and am so glad I tried the French toast. It was on challah bread, topped with berries and granola, and finished with powdered sugar. That will run you $14 by itself, and of course, I had to add a side of bacon, which was $5. One thing I am bummed about is they don't have decaf espresso, but they did have bottomless decaf coffee, which I believe was Argyle coffee. It was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast. They were more than accommodating on a busy Saturday morning. No wait, good service, and good food!
